Somto Ibe

Originally from Nigeria, Somto Ibe completed her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Ottawa. During her undergraduate she interned with Suncor Energy in Fort McMurray, AB. Upon graduation she then moved to Toronto as an Engineer-In-Training with Enbridge Gas Distribution. She is currently employed with Enbridge in Sarnia as a Project Lead.

Throughout her educational and professional career, Somto has been actively involved in the community, leading the Women in Engineering Chapter at UOttawa as well as volunteering with the Go Eng Girls program. In Fort McMurray, she actively participated in the Girls Inc. Operation SMART. She has been a mentor with Junior Achievement in Toronto and currently sits as the Sarnia chapter lead for the Women@Enbridge Resource Group.

Somto is the lead program consultant for our Sarnia programming and will coordinate programs for our SETT up for Success, READesign and STEMtrepreneur initiatives.
