Board Vice-President

Milanyila Vargas is a Communication, Marketing and Economic Development Specialist with an extensive background in international business expansion.

Milanyila has worked with multiple private corporations and government organizations in different countries, promoting and expanding economic development in industries like Tourism, Forestry, Transportation, Agricultural, Manufacturing, ICT Technology and Innovation. 

Currently, Milanyila acts as Economic Development Officer at Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development and Tourism. One of her main projects is supporting the Business Investment and Attraction pillar, as well as, the Entrepreneur and Innovation Pillar leading the Operation, Marketing, Engagement and Scale-Up programming of the region first business Incubator, accelerator, and technology maker space  Startup YMM.

She joined our Board in October 2020 as the Communications and Marketing Director and became our Board Vice-President in June 2023.
