SETT stands for Science, Engineering, Technology and Trades. This initiative to help under-represented youth, like girls, get ‘set up for success’ by introducing them to career opportunities in those fields.

Science is the foundation used by Engineers to create Technology. But who are the people who build, operate and maintain that technology? Tradespeople!
SETT stands for Science, Engineering, Technology and Trades. The “SETT up for Success” Initiative looks at the intersection between these four disciplines and aims to help youth get ‘set up for success’ by introducing them to career opportunities in those fields. This initiative also aims to focus on under-represented groups in Engineering and Trades and those may not have outside exposure to these fields, particularly young women.
Some programs within the SETT Up for Success umbrella include:
- Girls Inc. Operation SMART
- WBRL Homeschooler’s Program
- JSYF Engineering Career Night
