On November 3rd, 2018, in partnership with the Wood Buffalo Regional Innovation Network and Youth Computing, we hosted the first annual Launch Wood Buffalo entrepreneurship conference at Keyano College. The full day event included speakers, workshops and panel discussions and concluded with a community pitch competition with a chance to win a cash prize!

Following up on the 2017 Sarnia READesign program, we once again partnered with the Sarnia Library to host monthly READesign session for Scouts Canada. In Winter 2017-2018, we partnered with the YWCA Regina Girls Space to host STEM sessions that we called Girls STEM Space. These were drop in sessions open to girls aged 12-16 and hosted by BrainSTEM Ambassador Funke Omole.

On May 8th, 2018, one of our ambassadors, Shefaza Esmail, launched the Wood Buffalo EnviroSTEM program. She worked with volunteers at the Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre to present two workshops: vermicomposting and water filtration. A total of 8 Indigenous students were in attendance with their 3 chaperones.
